My favorite thing about wedding photography has to do with the people I meet and the importance of the stories I get to tell, but there are some other perks along the way. One of the best is also the most simple: people tend to get married in places they like to be.
And there are few places I’d rather be in August than Newport, Rhode Island. So thank you, Cindy and Andrew, for your fantastic choice of Belle Mer.
Newport did not disappoint. I met their friends and family the day before, covering their rehearsal dinner at the verdant Newport Vineyards, which gave me the opportunity for extra portraits.
Cindy got ready with her wedding party at Gurney’s Newport Resort and Marina, doing a first look right by their lighthouse. Then it was off to the insanely elegant grounds of The Elms, outclassed only by the couple and their wedding party.
Finally, the ceremony and reception were at Belle Mer, which overlooked the Narragansett Bay and Newport Bridge as it went from a blue sky to a gorgeous sunset.
Thank you to Blue Ivy Events for their perfect planning of the dinner and wedding!
