A little bit about me...
Wanna hear something wild? After twenty years shooting weddings, I still genuinely love them. Where else would the most tender, intimate moments of your life happen at the same time your drunk uncle jumps on a chair with a tie around his head?!
Weddings are a wild mish-mosh of emotion. Friends and family who’d rarely end up under one roof are suddenly shoulder-to-shoulder, laughing, tearing up, and dancing till their feet hurt. And that energy is pure magic to photograph.
Great wedding photography should make your day feel easier, not more performative. My goal isn’t just to deliver beautiful images…it’s to quietly capture your love while helping you feel present, comfortable, and connected to the people around you.
But my journey to photography wasn’t a straight path. It happened upon me by chance, and I put in a lot of hours of dedication, hard work, and creative experimentation to become the artist I am today. Keep reading! Have I got a story for you…
01 · The hard way
Picture this...
It’s August 2000, I’m working as a newspaper editor in the Adirondacks and get tapped to be the key photographer for President Clinton’s visit. Fun fact: I’m not a photographer…yet. I spend most of the drive figuring out how to turn the darn camera on! But I show up with equal parts curiosity and confidence. And that weekend’s coverage earns a statewide photojournalism award.
From there, I kept chasing real moments. At Columbia University, I photographed Presidents and world leaders, and I’ve been the lead photographer for the Al Smith Dinner since 2008. I’ve captured everyone from Muhammad Ali and Smokey Robinson to Spike Lee, Dr. Ruth, John Lithgow, Brooke Shields, and 4 of 5 of the latest U.S. presidents.
02 · The method
Then I created
a way of seeing.
In 2008, a vacation in Ireland sparked something new: I created the globally-recognized Brenizer Method, a technique where I stitch multiple frames into one wide image to give portraits an epic sense of place while keeping the subject crisp and beautifully separated from its setting. I realized I could bring that documentary heart into weddings and tell stories filled with joy, emotion, and the kind of images that feel cinematic and true. Then in 2013, both American Photo and Rangefinder Magazines named me one of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World.
I'm not there to direct your wedding. I'm there to document it.
03 · On the day
But credentials only matter if they show up on the day.
I bring photojournalist instincts, a genuine eye for portraiture, and the kind of calm presence that makes chaotic, emotional, fast-moving days feel manageable for everyone in them. I know when to step in and when to disappear. I’m not there to direct your wedding. I’m there to document it.
My studio was built on a simple belief… Great wedding photography should make your day feel easier, not more performative. The goal isn’t just beautiful images…it’s a wedding where you feel present, comfortable, and connected to the people around you, while someone quietly captures all of it.
04 · Seen it all
From Chile to Vietnam, and every corner of NYC.
Today, I’ve shot over 1,000 weddings across the world: from Chile to Vietnam, Croatia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland, the Bahamas, and nearly every corner of New York City. And I’ve truly seen it all…from hurricanes to forgotten dresses to a worldwide pandemic. So I promise you can relax and be fully present while I focus on the moments you’ll want to relive forever.
I’m also a dad, which has made me even more tuned in to the small, fleeting moments that matter. Hands squeezing a little tighter, grandparents tearing up, or the look that says “we did it.” It’s also taught me to bring a calm, steady energy to such an impactful day.
